Location: South Croydon, London
Salary: £93–£105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience
Contract: Full-time, long-term, temporary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am–3:30pm
Start: September 2026 – ASAP

Transparency Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD) to support pupils aged 4–19 at a specialist school in South Croydon.

The school offers personalised, sensory-based learning for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and complex needs. Compassionate relationships and each pupil’s individual progress are central to its approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support.

  • Help pupils develop communication, engagement and independence.

  • Provide personal care with dignity and sensitivity.

  • Support mobility and daily routines, following individual plans and relevant training.

  • Work closely with teachers and specialist staff, sharing observations and following safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous PMLD experience is essential.

  • Willingness and confidence to provide personal care.

  • A patient, compassionate approach and strong teamwork skills.

  • Understanding of complex learning, physical and communication needs.

  • An enhanced Child and Adult DBS is required.
